  A defensive stalwart... Will block a lot of shots and grab a lot of rebounds... Great positioning and timing... Very intelligent... Bad free-throw shooter... Not very skilled offensively... Will probably never develop into a consistent scorer.
Attended the Bellaire HS in Houston, Texas.
Played college ball at Connecticut from 2001 to 2004.
Selected by the Charlotte Bobcats as 2nd overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. Signed with the Bobcats in July.
Named MVP for Team USA at Pittsburgh Hoops Classic All-Star Game in 2001.
Named 1st Team Freshman All-American by the Sporting News, Basketball News and Basketball Times in 2002.
Named to the All-Big East 3rd Team Big East All-Rookie Team in 2002.
Set a record for blocked shots and grabbed more rebounds than any other freshman in Connecticut history in 2002.
Earned consensus recognition as a Freshman All-American in 2002.
Named to the Verizon Academic All-District 1 Men's Basketball team in 2003.
Led the nation in blocked shots in 2003.
Named Academic All-American 1st Team in 2003 and 2004.
Named to the All-Big East 1st Team in 2003 and 2004.
Named Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004.
Named Big East Player of the Year in 2004.
Won the Big East tournament with Connecticut in 2002 and 2004.
Named 1st Team All-America in 2004.
Named to the Wooden All-America team in 2004.
Won the NCAA title with Connecticut in 2004. Earned Most Outstanding Player honors for the Final Four.
Graduated as Connecticut's career leader in blocked shots with 441.
Member of the US Team that lost three games and won the bronze medal in the 2004 Olympic Games.
Selected to the NBA Rookie All-Star Game in 2005 and 2006. Couldn't play.
