No longer the flashy player he once was, Jordan would knock down quite a few mid-range shots each game... A fake master with good shooting touch... Those fade away jumpers were still great... Would get his teammates involved... Grabbed some rebounds and played smart on defense... An example of work ethic... A winner.
Attended the Laney HS in Wilmington, North Carolina. Played college ball at North Carolina until 1984. Selected by the Chicago Bulls as the 3rd overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft. Played in Chicago from 1984-85 to 1992-93. Returned to the Bulls in 1994-95 and retired again in 1998. Named president of basketball operations and minority owner of the Washington Wizards in January 2000. Returned as a player with the Washington Wizards in 2001-02. Played there until 2002-03. Announced his retirement in May 2003. Became part owner of the Charlotte Bobcats in June 2006. Won the NCAA title with North Carolina in 1982. Named to the All-ACC 1st Team in 1983 and 1984. Named ACC Player of the Year in 1984. Named USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year in 1984. Named College Player of the Year in 1983-84. Named to the ACC 50th Anniversary Basketball Team. Won the gold medal at the 1984 and 1992 Olympic Games with the US Team. Won 6 NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls. 5 times NBA MVP. 6 times MVP of the NBA Finals. Led the NBA in scoring 10 times. 10 times All-NBA 1st Team. Named NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 1987-88. 9 times All-Defensive 1st Team. 2 times winner of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. 13 times selected to the NBA All-Star Game. Named MVP 3 times. The only player to record a triple double at the game. All-time NBA leader in points per game. Ranks third in the NBA all-time scoring list. Ranks second in the NBA all-time list in steals.
